NattoPharma Research Network Integrally Linked to Vitamin K Experts at Maastricht University

We are excited to share that NattoPharma, partner of the Alliance Nutrition Group, has a long-standing research agreement with Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

NattoPharma’s International Research Network signed the first research and product development agreement with VitaK and Maastricht University in 2006. Ever since the company has been working in “tandem” with Maastricht University with the common aim to increase the understanding of the beneficial mechanism of action of vitamin K2 / MK7 within the human body.

From 2011 the collaboration with Maastricht University also included the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Maastricht University (CARIM). Together with CARIM and a group of other high-profiled international University institutes, NattoPharma ASA – as a major commercial partner – has been awarded with several millions of euros in research grants, including two prestigious grants (2015 and 2017) funded by the European Union within the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie research and innovation program for further exploration of potential health benefits associated with use of vitamin K2 / MK7.

Scientific beneficiary partners of this network are three highly ranked research university departments in Europe: CARIM/MMUC + Maastricht; Universitätsklinikum Aachen and Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. NattoPharma ASA has been the commercial pioneer participating in this research-consortium since its initiation.
